At Larry’s Plumbing, we recently helped Greg, a homeowner in Dallas, resolve a plumbing issue with his shower. Our expert technician, Joaquin, broke through the concrete shower floor to access the cast iron drain system. He removed a section of the outdated cast iron pipe and replaced it with a new 2-inch PVC pipe, complete with a P-trap for improved functionality.

In addition to the drain replacement, Joaquin installed a new customer-supplied shower valve and raised the shower head connection for Greg’s convenience. After backfilling the access hole, we scheduled a return visit to install the shower trim and ensure everything was functioning perfectly. We also rebuilt the toilet in Greg’s guest bathroom to ensure peak performance.

Additional Notes: If the existing cast iron drain was in poor condition, we informed Greg that extra work might be required to tie the new PVC drain into the existing sewer system. As always, we prioritize keeping customers informed about any potential changes or additional costs.
