Introduction
At Larry’s Plumbing, we pride ourselves on delivering expert solutions to homeowners across Royse City, Texas. Recently, we had the opportunity to assist a local customer, Gage, with an essential repair on his whole house filtration system. Gage had an existing filtration system that was installed incorrectly, resulting in potential water pressure issues and a less-than-optimal water distribution system. Here’s how we got things back on track for him!

Identifying the Problem
When we arrived at Gage’s home in Royse City, it was clear that his whole house filtration system wasn’t functioning as it should. An improper installation of the existing filtration setup had left his water pressure and flow compromised. To restore optimal performance, we needed to carefully uninstall the current setup and rework several key components.

Work Performed

  1. Removing and Replacing the Existing System
Our team began by carefully removing the previous installation. We then installed a new 1″ Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) within the service box located in Gage’s garage wall. This new PRV will maintain a safe and steady water pressure, protecting his pipes and fixtures from potential damage caused by excessive pressure.
  2. Upgrading the Piping with 1″ PEX
To ensure durability and flexibility, we installed a new 1″ PEX pipe, which is resistant to leaks, temperature changes, and the wear that Texas water systems often experience. By adding up to 10 feet of PEX piping, we restored the water distribution system, making it more efficient and reliable.
  3. Installing a Premium 1″ Main Shutoff Valve
Lastly, we installed a high-quality 1″ main shutoff valve within the service box. This premium shutoff valve allows Gage to easily control his home’s water supply if needed. It’s an essential feature for homeowners who want added peace of mind and control over their water systems.

Why Proper Installation Matters
A correct installation is vital for whole house filtration systems, ensuring that every part of the setup functions seamlessly together. With the new PRV, PEX piping, and a premium main shutoff valve, Gage’s filtration system is now fully optimized. Proper water pressure and reliable distribution mean fewer chances of leaks, consistent water flow, and a longer-lasting plumbing system.
