We were called out to a property where the customer reported that when she turned on her hose bib connected to her swimming pool filler, water would continuously spray out of the backflow device. When we arrived, we confirmed that the backflow device had failed and we replaced it with a new one. Now the backflow device works properly. It is recommended not to leave these types of hose bibs turned on for long periods of time as it will cause backflow devices to prematurely fail.
