Job location: Heath, TX
A residential water heater inspection revealed multiple code violations, including improper carbon monoxide venting due to a disconnected vent line. Given the unit's age and safety concerns, the technician recommended replacement over repair. The customer approved the estimate, and installation was scheduled for Friday afternoon. The job may require two technicians.
We were called out to look at a water heater today. We came out and found multiple code issues with the unit. The most pressing issue was that the carbon monoxide was not being vented to the atmosphere properly because the venting was not connected.
After informing the customer of everything going on as well as the age of the unit, I informed the customer it would be better to replace over repair. The customer agreed. I built pricing for the customer, and the customer approved it. We scheduled for Friday afternoon to come out and replace the water heater.
This water heater may require an additional person for the install. I have already let the office know in case that is a necessity.
