Called out for a tankless water heater not producing hot water. Upon arrival, we gave the customer pricing on running diagnostics. After approval, we started our diagnostics. The unit threw error codes 12 and 63.
We started by taking apart the burner assembly. We discovered that there was heavy soot and debris built up on the burners. We cleaned those off and put everything back together. We reinstated the water to check for proper operation. That was the cause of the issue.
We wanted to address code 63, which was for the recirculation pump. This house does not have a recirculation pump, so we reprogrammed the parameters for the unit to get rid of that error code. We ran the unit multiple times for 30 minutes, checking for proper operation and consistency. We cleaned our work area. Pictures attached.
