Today, we were called out to a residential home to service a tankless water heater and repair a condensation pipe that had come disconnected. Upon arrival, we noticed that the condensate line was installed using a PEX fitting on a highly acidic drain line, causing it to corrode and deteriorate. We serviced the water heater, cleaning the cold water intake filter, the condensation P-trap, the air inlet filter, and descaling the unit. We also replaced the condensation drain pipe with a PVC pipe to prevent any further problems.
