A residential shower was delivering only hot water due to a faulty cartridge. During diagnosis, the technician discovered multiple failing SharkBite fittings inside the wall. The customer approved full shower valve replacement to eliminate the problematic fittings. The new valve was installed, tested for proper operation, and the work area was restored. A toilet flapper was also replaced as a courtesy.

We were called out for the master shower only getting hot water with no cold water. We first started by removing the handle to identify the cartridge. After removing the handle and trim plate, we looked into the wall and found that there were multiple shark bite fittings in the wall, some showing serious signs of potential failure in the near future.
I gave the customer options to either replace the cartridge or remove the shower faucet entirely and replace it to remove all the shark bite fittings. The customer agreed to have us remove the shark bite fittings and replace the shower valve.
After replacing the shower valve, we reinstated the water and verified all connections for proper operation. We cleaned the work area before leaving, reinstated sheetrock, and used caulking to seal the shelf back into place.
Pictures of all work are attached. We also replaced a flapper in the downstairs hall toilet as a courtesy.
