Larry's Plumbing relocated a residential RPZ from the yard to the flowerbed near the front porch. The technician shut off water, removed the old RPZ, and installed new one-inch incoming and return lines with fresh connections. After reinstalling the RPZ and insulating the lines, water was restored and the system was tested for leaks and proper operation.

Called out to relocate the customer's current reduced pressure zone backflow preventer that was sitting in the middle of the yard. Upon arrival, excavation had already trenched 62 feet from the current position to the new position in the flowerbed next to the front porch. We got all of our equipment out and started by shutting off the water, cutting out the reduced pressure zone backflow preventer, running a new one-inch incoming line and then a new one-inch return line. We then connected the reduced pressure zone backflow preventer back to the incoming line using all new connections.
After the reduced pressure zone backflow preventer was reinstalled, we insulated everything, duct-taped the installation, reinstated water, and checked for proper operation. We verified there are no leaks on the incoming line and return line, and cleaned our work area. Excavation will be back at a later time to backfill. Pictures attached.
