Larry's Plumbing responded to a residential leak complaint where water was pooling outside the house. The technician investigated and found the house valve box full of water. After testing the pool filler line and main water line, they determined the main shutoff valve was deteriorated and needed replacement. An estimate was provided for the repair work scheduled for the following Monday.

Called out for a potential leak on the outside of the house. Upon arrival, we met with the customer. He discussed where he was seeing water pooling. We did our own investigation and noticed that the house valve box was full of water, as well as the large pool of water that the customer had noticed.
We first started by digging up that pool of water to see if we could find any water lines or pool filler lines. We were unable to find any lines. Next, we tried to do a meter test by isolating the pool filler line and the main water line. We were able to isolate the pool filler line, which was not the cause of the issue.
We were unable to isolate the main water line due to the ball valve being rotten and old. We made an estimate for the customer to dig up that house valve and replace it. We will be back next Monday to do the work. Pictures attached.
